Welcome Barns Medical Practice
"A Partnership of Equals Working Together For The Benefit Of Patients'
With patients' needs at the heart of everything we do, our website has been designed to make it easy for you to gain instant access to the information you need. As well as specific practice details such as opening hours and how to register, you’ll find a wealth of useful pages covering a wide range of health issues along with links to other relevant medical organisations. The Practice is contracted to provide healthcare services by NHS Ayrshire & Arran.
We are advertising for a new GP to join the Practice and want to appoint the best possible candidate to the team. In the meantime we have employed another Advanced Nurse Practitioner to see patients who have acute medical conditions. We constantly review our appointments to ensure we can provide you with the best possible care from the most appropriate Healthcare Professional for your needs.
If English is not your first language and you feel an interpreter would help in your medical consultation, a telephone interpretation service can be arranged during your appointment. Please arrange a longer appointment if you require this service.
Physiotherapy in the Practice
You can now book an appointment in the practice for assessment with a musculoskeletal advanced practitioner physiotherapist. Click Here for more information.
Eyecare Ayrshire is aimed at promoting Optometry services as the first port of call for eye problems within Ayrshire and Arran. This scheme was launched on 1st February, 2017 and strives to provide the right service, by the right person, in the right setting.
The aim of this joint initiative is to direct patients who have eye problems to Optometrists (rather than GP, A&E) who can assess, manage and, where indicated, refer to the right agency.
For more information and a list of opticians and pharmacists who have signed up to this scheme, please click Here
Scottish Government Survey
Every 2 years the Scottish Government randomly survey a sample of people asking about their experience of accessing and using primary care services. Find the Barns Medical Practice results for 2015/16 here Scotland's Experience of Local Health and Care Services
