Community Midwives

The practice will help to look after you during pregnancy and at home after the delivery. Julie runs our Ante-Natal Clinic on Thursday and Friday afternoons at the Heathfield Suite in Ayr Hospital.

A health visitor is a registered nurse who has received training particularly related to babies, children and pregnant women. Their role is to provide families with children under five years old with support and advice around the general aspects of mental, physical and social wellbeing.

Attached Staff

Anne Carnochan

Anne is a Community Dietician who can offer advice on how to make informed and practical choices about food and nutrition and help diagnose and treat dietary and nutritional problems.  The practice holds a dietetic clinic twice a month on a Thursday afternoon. Referral is made via the GP. 

Brian Scarisbrick

Brian is an Advanced Practitioner Physiotherapist who has a clinic in the Practice every Wednesday.  If you have a musculoskeletal complaint you may be offered an appointment to see Brian.

Rebecca Watson

Rebecca is a Community Link Practitioner whose role is to support people to live well in the community.  Rebecca will listen to your story and talk to you about what is going on in your life.  She can help you to get support, advice and information from services or activities that will help to improve your physical and mental wellbeing, and quality of life.  Rebecca holds clinics every Wednesday and Friday at the Practice or can visit you in your home if you struggle to get out.

Mental Health Nurses

The practice has various mental health nurses employed in the community. Referral to them is made via the GP.
