Nursing Team

The Practice nursing team are highly skilled to assist the GPs in attending to the needs of our patients. We have many nurses who perform a variety of tasks, and the Receptionist may ask a few questions to determine you are seen by the most appropriate clinician.

Nurse Consultant - Diane Lindsay

Sister Lindsay is a fully registered nursing sister who works fulltime in the practice. Diane joined the Practice in 1997 and is a fully qualified Practice Nurse and since 2013 has developed the Advanced Nurse Practitioner role, having gained Master of Science in Advancing Nursing Practice in Primary Care in 2013. This qualification enables Diane to diagnose and treat a range of minor illnesses and acute problems. If you require seen within 48 hours, you may be offered an appointment with Diane. If you have an acute illness and are too unwell to come to the Surgery, then Diane may visit you at home. Diane is also our diabetic specialist nurse, and runs twice weekly clinics for our diabetic patients. Diane continues her practice nursing duties also.

Nurse Practitioner/Practice Nurse - Jill Meikle

Jill joined the Practice in 2003 and is a fully qualified Practice Nurse and Nurse Practitioner, having gained Masters qualification in advanced patient care in 2014. This qualification enables Jill to diagnose and treat a range of minor illnesses and acute problems. If you require seen within 48 hours, you may be offered an appointment with Jill. Jill continues her practice nursing duties also, and offers a range of chronic disease, family planning and health promotion services.

Advanced Nurse Practitioner - Lorna Hale

Lorna joined the Nurse Practitioner team in 2018.  Lorna has been a registered fully qualified Nurse for 29 years. She has vast nursing experience which has been gained in hospital, community, hospice and General Practice settings.   Lorna has achieved a Bachelor of Science in Health Studies, a Graduate Diploma in Respiratory and Masters in Advanced Clinical Practitioner—Adult. Lorna’s role in the practice includes triage assessment, face-to-face assessments and home visits for housebound patients.

Community Nurse Practitioner - Kate Hollins

Kate joined the Nurse Practitioner team in July 2019.  She is a fully qualified nurse, who has gained qualification and experience in Advanced Patient Assessment. Kate comes to the practice with lots of experience in Community Nursing, having previously worked as a Team Leader in the District Nursing Team.

Practice Nurse - Sophie Steele

Nurse Steele joined the Practice in 2016.  She is a fully qualified Nurse, who has gained qualifications and experience in General Practice Nursing.  Sophie offers a full range of appointments including chronic disease management and female health. 

Team Nurse - Nicola Raymond

Nicola joined the Practice in 2006 and has a varied role working between the Practice, District Nursing and Health Visiting teams. She provides Practice clinics 4 days per week. Any patient aged over 75 years is encouraged to book an appointment with Nicola for an annual health check.

Healthcare Practitioner - Morag Neilson

Morag is a highly skilled Healthcare Practitioner who performs a wide range of basic nursing duties under instruction and guidance from the Practice team.

Phlebotomists - Eilidh Walker, Diana Priestley and Shona Neilson

Eilidh and Diana are members of the Reception Team who have undergone full phlebotomy training and are experienced in blood taking, breath testing and ECGs and other basic nursing duties as directed by the clinical team. They have recently been joined by Shona Neilson.
